All University of Texas at Austin websites are required to include the University Brand Bar, certain footer links, and a copyright statement. Exceptions, where relevant, are noted in each requirement breakdown.
University Brand Bar
The University Brand Bar provides visitors to UT websites with a quick identifier of the UT brand and a consistently implemented route back to the UT Austin homepage. It is required for all official college, school, and unit websites at The University of Texas at Austin, with the below exceptions:
- Self-sustaining units with a .org address (e.g., The Wildflower Center, Blanton Museum of Art)
- Campaign or event sites (e.g., Campaign for Texas, Longhorn Welcome, Thanks Day)
If you’re unsure whether you’re required to use the University Brand Bar, contact University Communications.
Visit University Brand Bar Specifications for design and behavior details.
All University of Texas at Austin websites are required to include the links below in their footer.
Websites are also required to include a copyright statement (e.g., © The University of Texas at Austin 2016). Please ensure that the year is kept up-to-date.
